PureLung in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Ask Before You Start
No safety data exists for PureLung in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Several named ingredients, such as ginkgo, bacopa and concentrated green tea, have not been shown safe in those periods. Do not start the capsule without talking to your prenatal clinician, and bring the full panel.

Why pregnancy needs extra care
In pregnancy, what you swallow can reach the baby, and plant extracts are poorly studied in this group. Researchers seldom test supplements on pregnant women, so the absence of a warning on a bottle does not mean it is safe.
NCCIH advises pregnant and nursing women to talk with a healthcare provider before using any dietary supplement (NCCIH, Using Dietary Supplements Wisely).
What the label says
The label image we saw has the directions and warnings on a side panel that is cut off. Read your own bottle for a pregnancy warning. Many supplements print "if pregnant or nursing, ask a health professional" on the label, and if yours does, take it seriously.
The names that raise questions
- Ginkgo may affect bleeding, which matters near delivery (MSK, Ginkgo).
- Bacopa has no safety data in pregnancy.
- Green tea extract in concentrated form adds caffeine and has liver cautions (NCCIH, Green Tea).
- Cinnamon extract in medicinal doses has not been well studied in pregnancy.
- Vitamin B6 and choline are needed nutrients, but extra supplement doses are best chosen with a clinician.
The blend hides the amounts, so none of these questions can be settled by reading the panel.
If you already took the capsule and then found out you are pregnant, stop and call your clinician for advice. Do not worry alone, but do call.
Breastfeeding
Some plant compounds pass into milk. For most extracts the effect on a nursing baby is unknown. If you are nursing, ask your clinician or lactation consultant before starting any new supplement, and bring the panel.

See packsIf you want to support your breathing in pregnancy
Pregnancy can make breathing feel different, because the growing uterus presses on the diaphragm and hormones affect the airways. Most changes are normal, yet sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, a fast heart beat or swelling in one leg are emergencies, and the answer is 911 (NHLBI, COPD Symptoms).
For everyday comfort, a clinician may suggest posture changes, gentle exercise and the breathing exercises on the breathing exercises page. If you smoke or vape, free quit support is available at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (Smokefree.gov, Quit Smoking or Vaping).

What to bring to the visit
Bring a photo of the full panel, your list of prenatal vitamins and your questions. Prenatal vitamins already carry B vitamins and choline, and a second supplement may duplicate them. The medicine safety page lists other questions to ask.
