Who makes it?

Who Makes PureLung? The Label Names a Distributor, and No Maker

Quick answer

The PureLung label prints "Distributed by: MJO, Sheridan, WY 82801". It does not name a manufacturer, a facility, a street address or a phone number, and the front shows an MJO capsule mark. This site is run for a U.S. authorized retailer and is not the maker or the distributor. Ask the order desk if the maker matters to you.

The label01

What does the label tell you about the company?

Three things. The front shows a capsule mark with the letters MJO. The back says "Distributed by: MJO, Sheridan, WY 82801". And no manufacturer is named.

Distributed by means the company puts the product into sale. It may or may not have made it. Many supplement brands buy capsules from a contract manufacturer, pack them under their own name and distribute them. That is legal and common. What a buyer loses is a clear line between the brand and the maker.

The retailer02

Who is the seller on this site?

The retailer is a U.S. authorized retailer, per the seller's materials, and this site is its information site. The order desk and the returns address are in New York, NY. The retailer is not the maker, and the site is not the maker's website.

We label this plainly in the header, the footer and the about page, and we list the "authorized retailer" status as unverified in our confirm list, so the owner can verify it with the brand. If you have a direct line to the distributor, you may find the facts faster than we can.

Why ask03

Why might the maker matter to you?

Because a named maker can be checked. You can look for its facility, its history and any FDA notices. If you have an allergy, you can ask the maker about cross-contact. If a batch problem appears, a named maker is easier to trace.

FDA says the firm that markets a supplement is responsible for its safety and for following good manufacturing practice (FDA, FDA 101: Dietary Supplements). When a firm names itself and its facility, you can hold it to that. When it does not, you can still ask. A seller that answers quickly and clearly gets points. One that does not, loses them.

Who makes the capsules, in what country, and under what GMP audit? Send the answer to the contact page and we will add it.

Names04

What about the name MJO and lookalike brands?

MJO is the only name printed on the label. We do not tie it to any other company or product, and we do not claim a relationship with any other brand. Several lung products have similar names, and some sellers copy bottle designs.

Our name confusion page lists how to tell PureLung from lookalikes. Always check the label on your bottle against the one on this site, and the distributor line in particular.

Your options05

How can you find out more yourself?

Look up the distributor address through your state's business records, which are public. Ask the order desk. Check FDA's recall pages and MedWatch for any notice. Search for the brand name and the distributor together and read results from sources you can trust.

A business record shows who registered a company, not who made a product. Treat each item as one clue. If something does not match, ask the seller. If you cannot get an answer, a different product with a named maker may suit you better, and a pharmacist can help you compare.

Background06

What is a contract manufacturer, and is it a problem?

A contract manufacturer is a factory that makes products for other brands. Many supplement brands, big and small, use them. The brand writes the recipe and the label, the factory fills the capsules, and a distributor ships them.

It is not a problem by itself. What matters is whether the factory follows good manufacturing practice, tests its batches and is open to audit. A buyer cannot see any of that from a bottle. That is why a named maker, a facility line and a CoA from a named lab are useful clues. PureLung gives none of the three. A blend adds a second layer: even if the factory is excellent, the label does not tell you what went into each capsule.

The mark07

How do you read the front mark?

The front of the bottle shows a small capsule mark with the letters MJO at the top left, above a line drawing of lungs and the word PureLung. We treat it as the brand mark of the distributor and make no claim beyond what is printed.

A brand mark is not a certification. Do not confuse it with a seal from a lab or from an agency. The bottle also shows a teal and white label, a white cap and the words Respiratory Support & Lung Health*, which is a brand claim with an asterisk. None of these tell you who made the capsules or where.

Public records08

What can a business record tell you?

A state business search can show when a company was formed, its type and its registered agent. Wyoming is known for low-cost company filings and for privacy rules, so many small companies are formed there. That is legal and tells you nothing about quality.

A record cannot tell you who makes the capsules, where they are made or whether they pass a test. If you search, use it as a single clue. Look at the date of formation, the status and whether the address is a registered agent's office. Then ask the seller the questions the label leaves open. If the answers are clear, note them. If they are not, you have learned something useful about the seller.

  • Do: check that the name on the label matches the name on the order.
  • Do: check FDA's recall and warning pages for the brand name.
  • Do not: assume a distributor's town means the capsules were made there.

Updates09

Will we update this when we learn more?

Yes. If the order desk, the distributor or the brand shares a manufacturer name, a facility line or a lab report, we will add it here with the date and the source, and we will say exactly what it covers. If you have the answer, send it through the contact page. We would rather publish a short, true line than a long, vague one.
