How to Verify a PureLung Batch: Lot Numbers and Certificates

Quick answer

Find the lot number on the bottle, photograph the panel and ask the retailer for the certificate of analysis for that lot. The retailer's pack gives example references, but we cannot confirm a lab or a result. A certificate that names no lab, no date and no method proves little.

What is a lot number?

A lot number is a code printed on a bottle that links it to a production run. If a problem is found, the maker can trace which bottles belong to that run. It is also the key you need to ask about testing of your own bottle.

Look on the bottom or the side of the bottle for letters and digits, and often a best-by date.

What is a certificate of analysis?

A certificate of analysis, or CoA, is a lab report for a lot. A useful one names the lab, the date, the methods and the results, such as identity, contaminants and amounts. It should match your lot number. A CoA is a document, so its value depends on who wrote it and how it was done.

What we can and cannot say

The retailer's pack gives reference codes for a lot and a certificate. We list them for the owner to confirm and do not publish them as verified, since the lab is not named and we have no report to read. That is why this site makes no claim of third-party testing.

Test claims need a name

"Third party tested" is a phrase, not a result. A named lab, a date and the numbers make it a fact.

A checklist for your bottle

Take these steps when your order arrives.

  1. Photograph the front, the panel and the lot number.
  2. Write the lot number in your order notes.
  3. Email the retailer at [email protected] and ask for the certificate of analysis for that lot.
  4. Check that the certificate names a lab, a date and tests such as heavy metals and microbes.
  5. Compare the panel with the one on the supplement facts page.

What to do if the seller will not share

A refusal is information. You can ask again, ask a pharmacist for advice or choose to return the bottle within the guarantee window on the live listing. A seller that stands behind a product usually finds it easy to share a report.

What a certificate cannot show

It cannot show that the capsule works. It can only show that the lot matched its specification on the day of testing. It also cannot confirm the label is accurate unless it covers the amounts of the named ingredients, which for a blend need the maker's data.

What does the PureLung label say?

The label shows 60 capsules, a serving of 2 and a 600 mg Proprietary Blend of eleven names with no single amount; it names no disease.
